If you’ve been searching for a boudoir photographer in Vancouver, chances are you’re wondering what the experience is actually like.
Every session at Black Crow Boudoir is fully guided — from posing to expression — so you never feel awkward or unsure of what to do. The studio environment is private, relaxed, and designed to help you settle in quickly, even if you’re feeling nervous at first.
Clients come in for all kinds of reasons — celebrating milestones, stepping outside their comfort zone, or simply wanting to see themselves differently. No matter your reason, the experience is built around helping you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.
Frequently Asked QUESTIONS
WHO WILL SEE THESE PICS?
Only you and me. Once you receive your finished images, you can share them with anyone you choose — or no one at all. I may occasionally ask to share select images, but only from clients who give enthusiastic permission. If you prefer complete privacy, your images remain 100% private.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
You don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe — unless you want to. Boudoir isn’t about the outfit; it’s about attitude.
Boudoir also doesn’t have to mean lingerie. Maybe you feel most empowered wearing your favourite sports team’s jersey. Maybe you love corsets and latex and the confidence they give you. Or there’s the simplicity and seduction of a silk bed sheet and a coy smile. There is no wrong way to do this — it’s about what makes you feel confident and empowered.
And if you’re still unsure what to wear, don’t worry — I’ve got you covered. I’ll send you a wardrobe guide packed with ideas and inspiration to get your imagination going. I’ll also offer guidance along the way so you feel confident in your choices as we head into your shoot.
How Many OutFit Changes Am I allowed?
You’re welcome to bring as many outfits as you like. In the time we have together, most sessions comfortably allow 3–4 outfit changes. It’s always better to bring options so we can choose what feels best in the moment.
Do You Have a Client Closet?
Yes. We offer a selection of lingerie pieces in sizes small through XL, along with elegant robes and corsets that you’re welcome to use. Many clients enjoy using the client closet to expand or accessorize outfits they already have, creating a fresh look and feel for their session.
DO I Need to Know How to POSE?
Not at all. You don’t need any experience or modeling skills. I guide you through every pose and expression step by step so you feel comfortable, confident, and natural. You’ll even get the added entertainment of watching me demonstrate them — which is worth the price of admission right there.
Is it Normal to Feel Nervous?
Completely. Just so you know, you are not alone. In fact, almost every person considering a boudoir session starts exactly where you are right now — the same nerves, the same doubting little voices.
I hear it so often that I wrote a blog post, “Your First Boudoir Photoshoot: A Gentle Guide for Nervous Beginners,” about this exact experience. I’d strongly recommend giving it a read if you’re feeling unsure.
But know this: almost everyone arrives feeling nervous. Within minutes, most people relax as they realize there’s no pressure to perform — just guidance, comfort, and a safe space that gives them the freedom to be themselves.
Do i need to be in particular shape to do a shoot ?
No. Boudoir photography is for every body, regardless of shape, size, or fitness level. The goal is to capture your unique beauty, confidence, and sensuality. I guide you with flattering posing, lighting, and direction so you feel amazing in your own skin.
WHERE WILL THESE PHOTOS BE TAKEN?
I have a home studio designed specifically for boudoir photography, which many clients love. I’ll send you a studio guide showcasing the looks and styles I’ve created in that space so you can decide if it fits what you’re envisioning.
I also enjoy working in unique locations and may suggest spaces that better match the creative mood and aesthetic we develop together. Some clients choose to shoot in their own homes or private spaces as well. I’m open to creating the environment that feels right for you.
WHAT ABOUT GETTING OUTSIDE?
I love outdoor boudoir. Photographing you in nature creates a completely different atmosphere and can result in stunning, one-of-a-kind images. If this resonates with you, we can explore capturing you outdoors in a way that feels raw, natural, and powerful.
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH MEN?
Yes — and more men are choosing boudoir (sometimes called dudeoir) than you might expect. These sessions focus on confidence, presence, and authenticity rather than posing or performance. You’ll be guided throughout in a relaxed environment so you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.
Most men start out unsure and leave saying they felt more confident than they have in years.
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH Couples?
Absolutely. Couples boudoir sessions celebrate connection, trust, and chemistry in an intimate, comfortable setting. Whether playful, romantic, or deeply intimate, sessions are guided to reflect your dynamic and create meaningful images together.
Are You LGBTQ+ Friendly?
Black Crow Boudoir is an affirming, judgment-free space for LGBTQ+, trans, and non-binary people. You are welcome to show up exactly as you are and celebrate yourself with confidence and respect.
DO YOU Edit/Retouch your Photos?
Yes. Every selected image is carefully edited for tone, lighting, and skin retouching while still keeping you looking natural and like yourself.

Hello, I’m Trevor.
Boudoir photography holds a unique power to shift how we see ourselves. It asks for trust and vulnerability — and in return offers something deeply affirming: the opportunity to reconnect with, embrace, and celebrate who you are. This experience is about far more than photographs — it’s about transformation.
At heart, I’m a storyteller. Over the years, I’ve expressed that through music, writing, and directing in the film industry — and now through photography. My cinematic background shapes the way I shoot, drawing me toward dramatic, moody imagery rich with texture and depth — an aesthetic that pairs beautifully with the art of boudoir.
Creating a space where people feel comfortable, respected, and seen is at the core of what I do. I photograph individuals of all genders, identities, and relationships, and strive to ensure every session feels affirming, safe, and empowering.
